In 1977, Robert Vonnegut founded Backcountry Boatworks, a small-ships carpentry business that satisfied his passion as both a craftsman and a carpenter. Four decades later, the company has grown into a dynamic boat building and repair company with in-depth experience in yacht interior refits, as well as custom restorations and repairs in both wooden and fiberglass vessels. The dedication and passion that built the company over forty years ago, continue to be its driving force.
