Hull Modeling

There was a time when half hull models weren’t for decoration. Their purpose was to design the craft to the feel of the designer, who would literally run his hands over the half hull to until he was satisfied with the lines. Then he would take the half hull and cut it into sections and use the sections to create offsets for designing the boat. These offsets were then transferred to a loft floor to make full-size patterns of the boat parts and stations.
